I lived in west palm beach for 6 months and never saw an alligator. I would be cautious but I wouldn't not go to florida due to the fear of alligators. plus, anywhere you go there's plenty of dangers

Agree with @mommy763, you're more likely to be stung by a jellyfish if you go to a beach as opposed to ever seeing a gator in saltwater.
Girl Hawaii will have issues too, anytime you're going into the ocean you'll be presented with problems. 😂 like someone else said jetskis will likely scare anything away but typically alligators, sharks and marine life period won't attack you unless provoked.
this is Clearwater Beach
well alligators are a freshwater species , they don't like salt water so there are no alligator in the ocean. if you are staying in Orlando, I went Clearwater Beach near Tampa it is a beautiful beach! just stick to the beaches near the coast, Clearwater is a little over an hour drive from Orlando
@jasholbert, never mind we might just go to Hawaii
I just got back from my week long vacation in Florida. I went to the beach every single day and didn't ever have any problems :) the beaches set out flags each day and they look out for wildlife. So if there were to be any, you wouldn't be allowed in the water. :)
Alligators are everywhere in Florida but typically they won't attack humans. What happened with the kid was just a freak accident. We used to raise alligators and whenever going into anybody of water (especially in the southern states) you should heed caution. They've even been found in some swimming pools though typically you can see them in that case.
Yes I've seen it in discover channel lol Florida has a lot of swamps
we were planning to stay at a hotel but did want to visit the beach @mommy763
I'm so scared, I love in St louis we only see alligators at the zoo @babes101116
I don't live in Florida but I visited Orlando, Tampa and Miami with my two year old back in March and did not see one alligator. I know they are there though choose to stay at a hotel instead of resort hotel they are less expensive anyways.
The noise will probably scare them away
@babes101116, I wanted to go jet skiing
In the city you'll probably be ok
