Ok moms of breast fed babies. How old are your babies and how much do they weigh? My daughters pediatrician always tells me "if the baby gains between a half ounce to a ounce a day then your doing great" but in the same breath they always say, "she needs to gain a little more weight" and at every appointment she's always gained a little more than a half ounce a day so I'm confused lol. At this appointment she was shy 4oz of gaining a whole pound in jus 2wks!.
my 12 week old weights almost 15lbs. she was born 2 weeks early at 8#15oz. she gains around an ounce a day give or take a little. she is ebf.
Exactly, that's how my daughter seems to be. She was born 5/28 at 8 lbs, at around 4 wks we had to go to ER and she was 9 lbs 2 oz, but she's so long lol
@bianca_rose, yea I think so too. I'm not concerned. She's gaining weight and growing in length fine. She's grown more in length faster than weight. So I think she'll jus be tall and skinny. 💁🏻 lol.
My daughter was born at 7lbs 2oz at discharge she was 6lbs 8.9oz. At her 2wk check up she was 7lbs 2.5oz. So it took her 2wks to get back to birth weight which is fine the doc said. At her one month appointment she was 7lbs 14.5oz. They says she's gaining fine, but low in percentile? It's jus annoying cause like I said they tell me every time "BF babies should gain a half ounce to a ounce a day" (which she's doing, and they point that out) and then in the same breath they tell me she needs to gain a little more?. Lol.
my baby is 13lbs at 3 months. she was 9.4 at birth and 8.12 when we left the hospital. wic told me 1/2 lb to 1lb in a month is good.
