I like it too. I just don't want him made fun of. picking names for your kids is tough lol you don't wanna name them after someone you hate you don't wanna give them a name they will hate or get picked on for.

I think it's a cute name! Both of our boys' names can be shortened, but we just try to say the full name more often than not. Example: my oldest is Matthew, so he's been called Matt, Matt Matt, Matty...but he still knows his name is actually Matthew. So if it mean that much to hubby, I'd just work to make Asher the norm. I think the name is adorable. And sadly, family is usually pretty uncontrollable. I'm sure you guys can navigate it, no matter what choice you make. My mother has had nothing nice to say about our daughters name, but I refuse to change it because she doesn't like it. Not her choice, nor her place. She can call my daughter by name or not talk to her at all, as far as I'm concerned.

that's what I told my mom and brother. I was like his name is Asher. not ash. not Zane cause they want to call him by his middle name if they can't call him ash. I'm like no just Asher. Spencer Zane was my choice for a boy but my husband hates the name Spencer. Lord only knows why. but it is so irritating when they don't Want to cooperate. @evococa

Hahaha awww ): well that's really selfish of them! I don't like how people think they're entitled to nicknaming a child because they "don't like" their name. Like, oh, I don't like your name so I'll just start calling you something else too then. 😝

My oldest is Jack William. Not Jackie. Not Billy Jack. And damned sure not JW. I dislike initial names (CJ, JR., etc.) but my entire paternal family still calls him JW to this day, 8 years later. Be texting my dad like his name is JACK. And he'll respond with "well tell JW we love him..." 😑😑😑 people are gonna do what they do.
