My advice for future mums who are a lot earlier on than me... No-one really told me anything about SPD. Basically it's where you pelvic bone is not in alignment this happens because your muscles soften in preparation for birth. If this happens to you.. It's going to hurt like shit I'm not going to sugar coat it. It will probably go away once you have had your baby. You may have pains in your upper thighs but most probably in your pelvic bone. I have both and trust me it's hell. It will feel like someone is stabbing you. Pregnancy isn't always a walk in the park it may not be early labour you are experiencing but in fact SPD. Just hang in there that's my advice and your doing great :) every painful footstep is a step closer to having your baby. X you can try a pregnancy belt which I'm going to try, paracetamol doesn't work or at least it didn't work for me .. I'll give you an update if belt works :) the midwife at the hospital that says 'oooh this is normal' is not the advice you need screw that. And screw anyone that tells you that it's nothing. You need how am I going to cope with the pain? how I am going to make the best of this situation? X

I had it with 1st pregnancy @mimibear and wasn't aware that's what it was as the pains were fobbed off by GP as normal pregnancy aches and pains. This time it came back around 16/17 weeks 😭

You can get back pain also... I'm suffering badly at the moment ... Be sure to get the correct belt though because the others in the shops are mostly for bump support not the pelvic joints (advise from my physiotherapist) x

I have been diagnosed with it too and had my first physio appointment last week. she gave me a list of different exercises and told me the importance of pelvic floor exercises. however saying stay away from the hoovering was a bit much lol as if I would trust my OH to do a good job with that!! Painkillers and bump support will help though. oh and she informed me that of I had it with this pregnancy then I will get it next time too :/ yeah cheers for that lol x

I think it's good that women aren't shy about these things. We talk about them and find out from each other what helps and how to determine whether or not we have it :)

@lou6888, and @calleighnatasha thanks for sharing your experiences with it :) and what happened when you had it. Always good to hear what other girls went through, how they coped and what they found helped them, how it made them feel and how long it lasted :) x
