My first son I had circumsized without question because I've always been told it was more hygienic. This one will be too. Though apparently in sex ed they teach kids that the foreskin they remove is the most sensitive part of the penis. I learned this from my then 13 year old son who came home from school and told me thanks mom you ruined sex for me, I was like wtf then he told me what he learned. I told him he will be fine and that he has a long while to worry about sex and that a piece of skin wouldn't have made a difference. SMH the public school system and their sex ed program 🙄

Hubby and I decided not to have it done on our son..... I'd say make sure to do research, I think it is more common in the US and less common in other countries. Good Luck mama! @talean89

@arivera64, I agree with you 100%! my first son is, but I felt so horrible after he had it done, and my SO's father still remembers having his done to this day, and has nightmares about it :( it also seemed like it hurt my son really bad when he had it done so we've opted out with the little man in my belly

Let me preface my response with I'm not biased either way and the choice is yours, your SO's and your doctors. America is the only place in the world that believes that being circumcised is more sanitary. It's not common to do it "just because" anywhere else. That being said, my son is circumcised. His after about 24 hours his penis retracted into his pubic region. My paediatrician said that it was due to the trauma of the circumcision. We had to discuss options to fix that if he didn't naturally "emerge" by 2 years old. He did eventually emerge on his own but I felt like a horrible person and mother. Please understand, this was MY experience. It is extremely rare. I only share this because I was not aware of the potential side effects because I didn't do the research. There is nothing wrong with women who choose to circumcise their boys. So, please please please don't take this as me saying that. If you choose to do it then please discuss the procedure with your doctor and the doctor who would be performing it.

That's just my personal experience that I share @alexzandriar I want ppl to realize that I don't judge when it comes to that because I have been on both ends. If my second born hadn't had complications I probably would have had all my boys circumsised just because i thought that's what everybody did with boys.

As a mother who has one son who is , and 2 sons who are not....I can tell you that it is a procedure that is not necessary. Hence one of the reasons why manybinsurance companies are no longer paying for it. Boys are born with foreskin for a reason. It does not put a boy at risk for infections as long as you teach your son how to have proper hygiene.
My second could not have the procedure done until 6months becausr of complications. When he was cleared, they told me he needed to be put to sleep to have it done because it's painful. Well if it's that painful, why are they doing it to newborn babies and only giving them numbing creme or sugar water for pain?
Whatever you choose is between yourself and significant other and you shouldn't feel judged no matter your choice. Just be sure to get research from reputable sources to help you make the choice that best suits your family. Best wishes

I circumcised my twins because it's easier to clean when you have to clean them down there and when you teach them to clean themselves plus it will have an effect on self esteem later on in life when they end up having gym and showering around others and when it's time that they decide to have sex

My little boy was circumcised, I left the decision up to his father but I would've had it done anyways tbh. No real reason why. It's really a personal decision

I have 3 sons and all have been circumcised, less infection, and it looks worse after than it really feels, I think I took it worst than my boys did lol

I don't have a boy but I have looked into it. A nurse told me that so many grown men come in to have it done and its painful for them since they're so much older. its easier to keep clean too if you just have it done early.

I did it with my first son and I'm going to with my second, also... I just believe it's more sanitary and healthier for the little peanuts. Don't worry they don't remember it and it's not going to traumatize them 😊

Also, many men prefer to not be looked at as strange with an uncircumcised penis. my grandfather was circumsized at 19! talk about ow! this way he won't remember it and it'll heal much more quickly. :)
