Moms who formula fed: when did you take your child off formula and switch to cows/almond/soy milk? My daughter will be one year old in about 3 weeks, and our pediatrician mentioned that when she's a year, she can be switched to regular milk. She's super healthy, and have never had any eating issues. So, did you just switch cold turkey on their birthday? Did you stop formula a few days before? Or, just when the can ran out?

I did half and half with my oldest two then eventually got to all milk with in a month

a week or a few days before my son actually turned one, I gave him cows milk.So basically quit cold turkey on formula and switched to milk. he was on ProSoyBee formula, and he does great with regular cow milk.

My sister did half formula half milk. Then after awhile she went straight to milk.

I did half formula half milk for about 1-2 weeks and then went full on milk. And everything went great :)

I stopped when the last can ran out about a few weeks before my daughter turned 1. She didn't have a problem switching over cause I gave her small amounts of milk here and there to see how she liked it

I've been giving pay almond milk at bedtime every night. I also give it to her once during the day. I wanted to see how she adjusted and she's done well. So, I'm going to slowly introduce more almond milk instead of formula in between meals.

@Jen natess, I did it the day after he turned one. Just Bc I was all paranoid since I read that before the age of 1 babies can't digest cow milk

@breloya, @mellissa06 we would prefer almond milk over cows..we try to live cruelty free, so, I think I'll start doing what you're doing @breloya ! Thank you! Do you notice it helps her sleep longer at night? My daughter is up every 2-3 hours.

She has slept all night since I've started, so I'm guessing it has been what's made the difference. She use to wake up every few hours to eat. She woke up once at 4 am last night to change positions and then went back to sleep at 8 am. And the other two nights, she went to sleep at 9 pm and woke up at 9 am. It's definitely worth a shot.

We started after his first birthday. He loved the switch! He only wakes up once at night now gets changed and a new bottle doesn't wake up again until morning.

I started doing half & half but I believe my baby has an allergic reaction to milk so i have to wait till his 1 year appointment on the 27th bc i dont know what i can do for it this is what happend when I started giving him milk
