so my 1 year old (18monthold) has just started throwing tantrums. screaming at the top of his lungs and throwing himself. we didn't have this issue so early on with our now 3 year old. any suggestions on how to deal with this. my husband doesnt like spankings too much and I'm not sire if he may be too young for a spanking. the way I was raised was with spankings which I feel worked pretty well for my siblings and I but is 18 months too young?

Terrible 2's time outs may work and sometimes a swat on the bottom depending on what exactly the child does wrong the biggest thing is whatever you decide you follow through with the punishment

I swore by the book love and logic I used it with all my babies and toddlers and kids I will again .. I use to pretend to not care and walk out of the room and if we had one in public I let them scream it out ( as long as it wasn't feeding time and or nap time if i knew they were fine I ignored it ...) eventually when they see they don't get what they want they quit it's not fun anymore .. The more u acknowledge it and do what they want to keep the peace the worse it gets
