I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!

Baby won't bear weight on leg I have a walking 10 month old and she has been extra fussy yesterday and today. Today I noticed she didn't really want to crawl, she would just cry until I came and picked her up. After I fed her, I tried setting her down to play with her big sister and she just started crying and wouldn't put any weight on her left leg. She will put weight down on her right leg but then just cries until you pick her back up. I thought maybe she just didn't want to be put down (as baby's often do). I tried a few more times over the next 30 minutes and she still won't put any weight on it. I had a meeting (I work from home), so I took her upstairs to my husband. She is now playing with her siblings and happy, but he text me (from upstairs) and says she still won't put weight on it. She is just sitting there playing.
I have a creative project for any of my Spanish speaking mommas I want to give my daughter a nickname that has to do with her caramel skin or the fact that she is mixed with Honduran and black . Most people won't understand but in the Spanish cultures we give everyone nicknames .

I'm a mixed gal myself, black, white n puerto rican. Most of my family is black so the black culture is what I know. My baby's father is black so my baby will be all mixed up too. I think that it'll be okay. Just teach the baby your core values and the little you do know about the culture.

@alyeng, yes il try my best. I'm Panamanian(Mom) African American and Cherokee(Dad). I didn't get to learn much from my dads side but I did lots of reading and watched movies so my baby girl and I can do the same.
Alyssa·
Exactly! There are things you can learn with her as she grows!

Omg that's me! Like yes although I'm considered "African American" my moms family is from Belize and they've never really had that "black oppressed mentality" if you understand what I'm saying? And my dads side is African American but all I know is my dad and he doesn't go into that stuff either. I've never really gotten along with the black girls in school and I never understood why. Then my husband is half black half white. And he's as confused as they come. He tried to fit in on both sides but struggles severely. So I don't want that for my baby.

@elainaelise, yes that's how it feels since my parents never took initiative to instill a certain mentality about my African American culture. I grew up slightly naive to things. I don't want my daughter to face the same. there still is so much for me to learn and honestly it has made me a better person to have learned the little I do know.

@desi720, I mean I managed. He managed so I feel she'll be more able to feel where she belongs, especially since this next generation will be more melted than ever. I can only teach her what I know and yes there are many movies and documentaries but it's different if you've never been through it or your family didn't instill it. I don't want her to feel as though those things are what define her as a being. I just want her to have a good heart and know that she doesn't have to force herself to fit in with anyone. She'll find the right set of friends who would love her no matter what her background is

@elainaelise, so true it doesn't define her. And yes having the right group of friends is great. I hope She never feels left out as if she doesn't belong.
