so I just found out that I might not get paid during my maternity leave and I don't know why bc my job is supposed to pay minimum 12 weeks of partially paid maternity leave and I'm over here like how am I supposed to pay my bills for the next 12 weeks 😭😯😕 plus buying diapers and other things needed for my son

called hr at my job to find out about paid maternity leave. they basically told me I'm ineligible for a paid leave (short term disability) but that I can do a "job protection" leave that's unpaid and I have to use my vacation hours. this is exactly why I will not be returning to taco bell after I have this baby! been working there for almost 3 years, been a manager for almost a year, and I have to use vacation hours for maternity leave!?
Any advice how many weeks or months I should ask for maternity leave from my boss at work before my due date? I'm due in august idk if its too early to ask for maternity leave

Did you file for disability? My job doesn't pay either, but disability does. Then once you have the baby you report it and then file for FMLA @a.e.w_0725
