So I breastfeed. my little guy favors my right boob over my left one. my right boob is also fuller then my left one. I finally started pumping to build up a stash for when I go back to work. Well in the time I was able to pump out 3 oz from my right boob, I was only able to get .5 oz from my left. how can I fix this? I need to build up my milk flow in my left boob, while maintaining the milk flow in my right. I hope this makes sense.
If you pump after you nurse what you get is kind of what's left. I'll get about an extra ounce and a half combined after a feeding. If can take a few pumping sessions to get a feedings worth of milk.
remember that the amount you get out from pumping is not an accurate judgement of how much ypu actually make.
also if you start on that side with every feeding it will tell it to make more, that being said; not all breast are able to make a large amount. some have less of the tissue needed for it.
you can try power pumping to help build your supply, but you may create am over supply and you don't want that either.
