non breastfeeding: clothes for you and for baby. comfortable clothes for you. they usually provide diapers and wipes while you are there. If you prefer a certain type of bottle is used I'd suggest bringing it yourself. same with a pacifier. you can bring your own blankets for baby if you like. coming home outfit. of course your car seat. camera or phone and charger or extra batteries. maybe something to read or movies to keep you occupied. don't forget to have dad pack a bag for himself if he is staying as well. he will want to bring pillows and maybe a blanket. shower supplies for the both of you.
breastfeeding: all of the above just with lanolin and nursing pads and non under wire nursing bras maybe a nursing tank top for when you get out of your gown. if you plan to pump bring storage bags and/or bottles to store your milk in if you can't feed directly.
to add: the mesh panties are comfortable but the pads are not so much you may want to bring your own or even some adult diapers I've heard those are better. I personally bring my own underwear and pads since I'm allergic to the mesh ones. most will suggest an abdominal binder as well. I agree. not sure if you are having a c section or vaginal delivery but after my c section I regretted not accepting the binder. my hospital provides them. there is probably more that someone else may can add I can't remember everything I had but most was useless.
