Today I've been told by my midwife to think about my birth plan so what pain relief did people use I don't want the epidural and very anxious about gas and air just don't wanna feel ill lol
The pethadine made me sleepy. i was falling asleep inbetween contractions but I actually liked that xx
Ours don't do peth anymore I had it on my son made me sleepy but anaesthetist said it's like going out getting drunk still feeling the pain but not caring. she suggested rentofemil or something it's a needle in back of hand and u press button when u feel contraction lasts two mins and flushes out she said it's cos women were desperate to avoid an epi abd were struggling on peth gas an air so this was an in between
I had gas & air only with both, made me feel alittle weird but it helped, i really didnt want to have an epidural (which i couldnt have anyways with being at birth centre) i think if you get to a point where you cant handle the pain you will take anything to ease it xx
I had gas and air for little like half an hour. Most of the time I was just chewing on the tube. I don't know if it was that or the intensity and quickness of my labour but I couldn't physically feed my baby when he was born cause I was so tired and ended up having to have an a injection to make me feel less sick xx
I just had gas and air too. It made me feel quite sick but I managed. They offered me morphine I didn't like the side affects and I was ready to push anyway. I had a spinal anaesthetic as I had to go to theatre for stitches that was fine too xx
I found gas and air fine, pervasive can make you feel really out of it and if you get to the point you need an epidural you really won't care. Don't make any decisions just ask them to let you ask rather than offer then you'll only get what you need X
I've read up about the pethidine but there's a few side effects to that too isn't there
I just want to feel alert and in control I don't like being drunk let alone drugged haha xxx
