I know it's only been 12 days but I'm really tired of this back && fourth with my baby in NICU, these doctors && nurses says hes fine && telling me how he should be home in a week or so , then it's his belly got a little to big && all these xrays show no problem but yet you have to keep stopping his feedings every other day for a few hours till his belly goes back down. I really want his doctor or a specialist to come in && see why this happens if the xrays only show gas , why can't y'all do anything about it ? do I need to stop Breastfeeding, && use formula that helps with gas , what is it that needs to happen other than feeding then stopping for a few hours maybe even a day && then starting his feeding back
@forever223, nooo your comments are helpful its just so hard not to be exhausted you know ? one tells you they can go home then another comes in and says they are scared because his stomach will get big from time to time && they stop him from feeding && that caused his weight to go back down when we just got it back up 2oz away from birth weight its just a tug && pull situation with them
@aniyahsmommy0403, he still has regular bowel movements but they say he's just still has a lot of gas. they have this tube down his nose that is sucking air && everything out his stomach && they not letting him eat
But I don't think my comments helped. Hope you can find peace of mind with this..my heart goes out to you right now.
I'm sure I would be too it's so easy for me to give you advice when I'm not the one going through it 😕 i'm sorry I commented trying to help but I don't think
@forever223, this is my second NICU baby my First Stayed 4Weeks . I'm just exhausted with these different doctors saying different things.
Also! Sorry.. I exclusively pumped for my baby who spent a month in the NICU. He had severe gerd and was asperating when he would reflux giving him a pneumonia. I refused to give him formula, so changed my diet (just googled breast feeding diets for babies with gerd).. That being said his reflux was less severe after a diet change on my part, and he breast fed a year and is now two and still drinking pumped milk (I'm breastfeeding my newborn right now too lol) anyways my point is you can google things that you can do to make your milk easier to digest for your baby of you're not wanting to do formula.
Being a NICU mommy is so so rough! I always found myself questioning doctors decisions, and frustrated with everyone in the NICU. I know it's hard, but trust your baby's Doctor. (S)he is doing what's best for your baby. Just keep telling yourself that and believe it. You'll get through this and it you'll be so happy and feel so accomplished when it's all over! As for the breastfeeding ask your baby's Doctor.. I'm the mom of 4 NICU babies shortest one was 2 days, and longest was a little over a month, last one being 2 weeks ago, so I empathize with you ❤️ you'll get through this!
@aniyahsmommy0403, lol girl you fine , we still slacking with stocking up on pampers we only have like 3 bags . im horrible ..
i feel like he just has gas built up & he will outgrow that over time. hell aniyah passes gas all day now which we rather her pass gas than let it build up. the damn specialist needs to make their way over there quickly & they need to figure out wth is going on
@aniyahsmommy0403, I asked them to try him back on the formula idk what they gone do , I just don't want him to spit up again if he gets the formula.
they need to let my baby free & i really need to send his damn package 😑 im horrible.
same thing happened to Aniyah. had to put her on gentlease & her belly looks sooooo good now.
Poor baby 😞 hopefully that helps! They shouldn't be telling you he would be able to come home soon unless they feel confident in writing you discharge papers right then. It is very unfair to get your hopes up like that! Sorry mama ❤️
