I have a stupid question so please don't judge...but my baby boy pees his diaper every so often. even right after I change his diaper he will pee a little bit. how much does he need to pee before changing a diaper so I'm not wasting diapers? or do I change him even after the smallest little pee he makes?

I'd start on a size one now. Better to have him comfortable than not.

could that explain why he's kinda fussy? @babynessa

@babynessa, should I start now or finish up the diapers?

I'd go to a size one. If newborn is starting to become hard to put on then its time to go up a size.

@babynessa, on one of his legs it's red. usually when I put the diaper on him it's just fine, but it's starting to become a struggle to get on. I put a size 1 on last night it looked a little big but it seemed to fit. we have sooo many size 1 diapers. he has 17 more newborn diapers left, singles, should I finish those then buy more? or just go straight to size 1?

Is it tight around his legs? Can you fit a finger or two where the diaper meets his leg? To me it looks like the diaper is getting small on him. Maybe a couple more weeks until they don't fit him anymore. But for now I'd just stock up on size 1 so you can switch in a week or two. That's just my opinion. @lilbabyboy16

@babynessa, does it look like it's getting a little small? or does it look fine?

Ya girl leave the diaper on a good 3-4 hours! Baby is good!!!! At night i dont even change my babys diaper at all! Never gets a rash. Pee actually cools them off and keeps them warm in winter

I switch to the next size up once the diaper seems tight or starts to leave red marks where her legs bend. She's currently in a size 2 and will be 3 months on the 2nd. But there is a weight limit for each size should state it on the box of diapers you buy.

I wait unless it's night time, then I would change before I put her to bed for the night. Worked pretty well! Dd is almost potty trained now, so I don't have to worry about diapers until the next baby! 😊

@valerie_jean, @deafmama16 @babynessa @ktwins188 okay that's what I've been doing for the most part is waiting til it gets really heavy, I didn't think it irritated him. Alright thank you!! also how do you know when they are ready for the next size diapers? (he's in newborn still waiting to be put in size 1)

I don't let the diaper get too full but once it starts getting squishy I change it. when my daughter only pees one time it barely effects the diaper so I don't see the need to change it at that point. She probably goes about 3 or 4 times maybe but she's so little that it takes a lot to make a difference.

yeah just wait til it feels full

I don't change my daughter unless her diaper is full and heavy. She's never gotten a rash.

What @valerie_jean said I do that to with both my niece and baby cousin and will do the same for my son. Save a lot of money if baby have no problems

I don't change my son until the diaper starts getting full or heavy TBH. It doesn't irritate him or anything and there's no point to go through so many diapers a day every time he pees.
