I feel like I got cheated not being able to successfully breast feed my son. I tried everything possible and I even tried relactation (still trying) but it's like my body just doesn't want to. I want back the bond I had with my baby the first few weeks after he was born 😭

That could be one of the contributing factors to not being able to successfully relactate. Let me know how things go. Feel free to reply but I'm going to bed for the night. lol. Good luck momma. You're doing a good job. Hope the lil guy starts feeling better and let's you sleep.

Yeah maybe cause I actually hate my pump lol. It was bought for me and I don't feel like the suction is very good. I'll have to call the hospital tomorrow and see if I can set something up @kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom

Huh, I didn't know about the short pumping sessions. I'm not familiar with ameda pumps... If you're still interested in the relactation process I would recommend you call the hospital you had the little guy at and see if you could talk to their lactation consultant. You may be able to rent a hospital grade pump through the hospital or WIC. Maybe a hospital grade pump would help??

Well I've dried up completely and have been for awhile now, so to relactate you're supposed to pump for short sessions frequently. My pumps an ameda @kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom

Have you tried hand expressing? Sometimes I'm able to hand express and that helps the milk to come out easier while pumping. I would definitely consider pumping for longer than 5 minutes at a time if that's possible. What kind of pump do you use?

It's pretty awful. I feel sort of detached from him 😔 I don't know how other people are so okay with giving it up by choice. @emkramer

I've drank tons of the tea. I hate oatmeal so I put it in cookies. I haven't talked to a consultant since he was in the nicu but she was trying to help me increase my production cause it kept decreasing because he wasn't home with me. I honestly think that's what happened. She even said all women are different. Some do fine pumping and some don't. My body doesn't like to produce milk with a pump but I would soak my shirt the second I got near Phoenix lol but it had decreased too much by the time he got home he started to refuse to breast feed since he barely got anything. I'm gonna make an appointment with my OB soon because I read somewhere they have a medicine you can be prescribed to help you lactate. So I'll try that with all the other over the counter meds and hopefully be able to get Phoenix to latch on and stay on. He latches no problem but when he realizes nothing's coming out he gets extremely mad @dohmommy2016

Did you try the teas and cookies? oatmeal is supposed to help. and avoid all meds like benadryl dries up milk so does peppermint. have yoy spoken to a lactation consultant? I'm sorry you are going through this ):
