My 3 week old drinks 3 oz of my milk now every 3 hours. Is that ok? Or too much? My mom keeps telling me that I have to give him that amount and I think its a lot. Idk :/ I'm a ftm and my mom said she knows better she had 3 kids.. And we all drank 3 oz or 4 oz at almost a month old.

even if it is from a bottle, you can't overfeed with breastmilk. the baby will never get fat or obese or sick.

@tahtahme, feeding from the breast is different though. From a bottle is easier for babies so they eat more than they might need. Not the worst thing though with breastmilk like you said 😊

there is no such thing as too much breast milk. ever. even if baby nurses 24/7

My son was eating 4 at 3 weeks old! It's not too much

I would do however much they need. So start with a couple of ounces and see how much baby eats, then add an ounce at a time until baby seems full. @jennaboo I think average is 2-3 oz per feeding around that age, but I go by what baby demands to keep from overfeeding and making them spit up more possibly. Also, you can talk to your pediatrician too. 😊

Yeah, every baby is different. So no offense to your mom, but she was the expert on HER babies' feeding. I would feed baby based on hunger cues, not on a schedule.
