I've got another question lol (I plan on calling my lactation consultant but I love hearing from you ladies too)
when pumping bm how do you prevent a foremilk hind milk imbalance? also I know they say morning milk is like coffee and evening milk is geared for bedtime but does it truly make that big a difference? I can get 6-14 oz in the am but at night I'm lucky to get 3. I'll be starting evening shift soon so hubby will have to feed her and don't want to give her coffee milk at night lol
And I never heard that morning milk is like coffee. I think that's maybe more when they're older. Once your full milk comes in instead of just transitional.
The FH imbalance is prevented by pumping a little before feeding. Half an oz to an oz depending on how much they eat. Two oz if you're way over producing
Yes. Evening milk has melatonin in it since that's when your body naturally produces it. But it's such a small amount that I don't think it makes much of a difference until they start sleeping longer.
@annasmomma12, I have a small stash buy is hard to build up. I've been going from Breast to bottle to save my stash and because she fights the bottle
No because we never really had that problem Anna was and is always hungry lol
You're welcome and with you going back to work do you have any back up milk?
there's absolutely no such thing as a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance.
