castor oil for labor induction..... does anyone have experience with it? my midwife suggested I try it to kick start labor at 39 weeks and I'd like to hear if it works and experiences with it before I decide to pick some up or not.
@shann, I am trying for VBAC. they agree and say I'm a great candidate for it but don't want me going past my due date. Its been 7 years since my c-section and 10 years since I delivered my first son naturally so I'm a bundle of nerves lol
are they going to let you do a vbac @sweetpeasmama716 I've had 2 and they wouldn't let me try some doctors are different it all depends on the hospitals insurance whether they can
Damn @shann she asked a question and for moms opinions on the question not to be told that she shouldn't be a mom if she choose to try castor oil while I agree it's dangerous and harmful to the baby but at you could keep it at that instead of going to far to say what you said. If she does it than she does it. Unfortunately some people need to make mistakes to learn that's life. @2beautifulboys if you know the dangers of castor oil regardless what your midwife and the people you know who successfully went into labor using it what make you think it will work for you dear? Research the pro and con of castor oil and while I already agreed that it's dangerous and baby will come when ready despite the uncomfortable miserable last stage of pregnancy it's all worth it just so the baby can be healthy. My son is stubborn as hell as I'm 37 weeks and still not dilated and this is my first successful child. I admit I'm suffering even in this heat but my needs of comfort is never going to be more important than the health of my son. Think about it ok?
@shann, I'm trying evening primrose oil and raspberry leaf tea, yoga ball, lots of sex, lots of walking.... I really want to avoid a repeat c-section so I'm looking into natural ways to get things going. if nothing works then nothing works, but I want to at least try what I can (that is safe) to move things along.
@taishasavage, I have been doing all that. I have until my due date or I'll be having a repeat c-section. I see a different midwife every time I go in, this one used to work in a birthing center and was my first time talking to her.
I wasn't judging necessarily sorry I've just heard to many horror story for me to even consider and if you go into labor a csection may not be possible once you start contracting I had a csection on like 39 and 3 days. at least you know what day of it doesn't happen before than in surprised they let you go that long with your 3 since you are having a csection have you tried other things @sweetpeasmama716
@shann, I never even considered it with my first 2 kids. it caught me off guard when my midwife suggested it. I know baby comes when baby is ready but I'll be having a c-section on my due date if she doesn't come before then so I am exploring my options and getting opinions. I wouldn't do anything to hurt my baby, thats why I was asking for people's experiences, not asking for judgement.
try walking around and I hear sitting on one of those giant balls and bouncing lightly on it can kick start labor. your body will go into labor when its ready though, i suggest just relaxing and waiting for when baby is ready. you should fire your midwife and find a new one. even if you only have a week left she shouldn't of told you to do that. doctors will absolutely tell you not to do that. why does your midwife want your baby out of you?
Yeah.. I wouldn't do that. There was a woman on here awhile back who did and her baby ended up dying.. It's so sad because it could have been prevented had she just not taken castor oil. It's too risky imo..like everyone said your baby will come when ready but I guess if you want to kickstart it try safer ways? Nipple stimulation, sex etc. try using a breast pump. I've heard that can send you into labor but I'm not sure how accurate the info is.
such a stupid idea really I mean if you can't wait a couple of weeks maybe you shouldn't be a mom. but that's just my view I only offer advice when I got to the end of my pregnancy literally I was more worried about going on maternity leave than trying to rush him. and it's not necessarily courage its shelfish
I wanted to, and bought some as well but was too chicken to actually go through with it. I was carrying my rainbow baby and was terrified that something would happen to him. So maybe not myself, but I won't judge or anything to someone who has the courage.
you went through the whole pregnancy why at the end would you even contemplate doing something potentially very dangerous
so would you yourself do it @2beautifulboys that midwife should not be practicing if she will tell you something so dangerous
Everyone I know that tried it (like 4 people) swear by it. Labor within 48 hours.
please dont do it :( its so dangerous. your baby will come when ready!!
it doesn't work. I was told the baby will come when it's ready.
idk why a midwife would suggest that! Def don't do it!
I did however I did not go in labor until the following week
they can have a bm inside you and swallow it and that can cause lots of problems one being the baby stay may be longer than yours
no it could harm the baby I honesty cannot believe you were told this

How long you had your labor?😶
I had 3 hours of labor before this adorable baby boy came out.😍
Share me your labor experience!👌🏻
#Throwback👶🏻
I just really want the all natural experience of going into labor on my own and not having to be forced into labor I hated everything about induction
have any mommies on here experience back labor?
Try pineapple . Lots and lots of it .
