After pregnancy, how long after do you have to wait to start having sex again ?

Thank you lady's. It will be 2 months on the 30th that I had my baby. I'm not in desperate need of sex but I still want to keep my man happy . Wait 6-8 weeks. Don't have sex until the doctor gives you the OK

I would wait until you go to your postpartum appointment and get the okay from your doctor. The reason is not only because of waiting for the bleeding to stop, swelling to go down and possible tears to heal, but most importantly to allow your cervix time to completely close back up, because it takes time for that to happen and if you introduce any outside forces (same reason you're not supposed to use tampons) you can get an infection in your uterus which can be quite dangerous. Not to mention the fact that you are more fertile right after birth with your cervix all open and whatnot lol

I waited 2 months, and even at 2 months it hurt like a #<$;#, but I think its because I tore. At 6 weeks, my doctor cleared me, but it hurt when he checked me so I waited another 2 weeks, and it was hard for a few weeks

@maddiesmommy022916, I feel your pain.. my docs said 4-6 weeks..I had a c section

it depend I would wait 6 weeks but I didn't I went 4 weeks but this time I am going to wait 6 weeks

I had a c section and did it 2 weeks later I know I shouldn't have though. you're suppose to wait 6 weeks

you should wait at least 6 weeks or until the doctor gives the green light
