Nursing moms who have gone back to work: did you experience a nursing strike at all? My daughter has been EBF for two months with an occasional bottle of expressed milk when I've had to be away but now I've been back to work for a 1-1/2 weeks and my MIL gives her bottles of expressed milk while I'm at work. Tonight for the first time she would not latch and screamed like crazy so we tried feeding her a bottle of breastmilk and she drank it just fine and then was out cold. Could this be a temporary nursing strike? I have noticed nursing recently has been more difficult as she constantly latches then unlatches but overall lasts the whole feeding. She also did just get her vaccinations yesterday so I'm not sure if there's a correlation there. Help! I'm so worried she won't nurse anymore!
@surpriseme, that's really good to hear!! I have tommee tippee but I got the extra slow flow nipples and she is drinking pretty slowly compared to others we have tried. I'll have to check out the latch bottles too! I successfully nursed her in the middle of the night and this morning so that's good!
My 2 year old did that after EBF for a while. I had tommee tippee bottles and the flow was way faster, I switched to Latch bottles and it got better. I will say it did take a couple days for her to start latching right away again, but she eventually did and it was no problem.
@geminimum666, thanks we have been using bottles recommended for breastfed babies.
That's great!! Yes I had the extra slow flow and when I switched to latch she did them how she did my boob at first lol. Then adjusted so it worked great. With my son I started with latch and have had no problems going back and forth. 😁
