breastfeeding and i feel like my baby girl isnt eating right. the doctor confirmed that she is latching right but the problem is that she will only eat for 5-10 minutes and want to eat every 30-60 minutes... its starting to get to be way too much and idk what to do, i was told it was supposed to be 20 minutes on each side and only feeding every 2-3 hours... hmmm? what to do?
thank you so much! it just didnt seem normal that she only eats 5 or 10 minutes... it sucks that its so often too because im not pumping im giving her straight boob lol so i have to have my boob out constantly all day and they get sore too. i dont let her use me as a paci well try not to... its funny that a 12 day old baby is the boss of me i cant turn her down no matter what lmao @taylorrleee1
Don't listen to people when they tell you how long feedings should last and how long your baby should go in between them. You'll make yourself crazy that way like a did for a few weeks lol. Let baby eat when she wants to, she knows when she is hungry. I started feeding my baby on demand and she made her own schedule which works great for both of us! And her eating every 30 minutes is completely normal at her age, she's probably hitting a growth spurt which means she's trying to up your milk supply to accommodate her growing. :) You can Google when babies hit growth spurts so you can expect when it will happen again, but remember that every baby is different. It sucks right now but just hang in there, it does get better! Oh and if she's comfort nursing, remember that you're not a human pacifier, a pacifier is just a rubber mama for her.
@jahnessagarcia, yes she needs the boob for atleast a second in order to fall asleep lol! she is definitely in love with her mama already♡ @tiffrae yeah its like this every day all day though i just wish it wasnt so often its like im feeding all day long
I heard it's like a comfort thing for them and they like to use the boob as a pacifier. Good thing is it will help you to produce more and more milk.
I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
I have the option to buy a puppy right this minute.......I wanna but hubs is shaky on the idea of a puppy and a baby😬 what do I do
Trigger warning
What is your opinion on the Philando Castile shooting? I just saw a recording of his 4 year old telling the mom not to scream so she doesn't get shot. That video broke my heart. I haven't read into the whole thing but do you think the cop was in the right?
Breast feeding mommies, what do y'all use on your nipples? Mine hurt so bad and I want to cry every time she latches on and starts eating and it's only day 2
it is totally normal! I thought the same thing because that's what I was told by all of my nurses at the hospital but I saw a few lactation consultants and they all said it was normal! Babies stomachs are tiny so they can only hold so much and breastplate digests super fast so that's why :) and I had bleeding nipples for 3 and a half weeks, no lie. Elliott was tongue tied and I didn't know until she was 3 weeks old and after I got that released she had to completely relearn how to latch so they were still so sore for like 4 days then it started getting better. Anyways all I'm saying is keep to it and before you know it it will just be second nature for you both! And for real it's crazy how a tiny human that's so helpless can run every part of your life 😂
