I actually saw this question posted by another mommy here. What happens when your not breastfeeding? What happens to the milk? My breasts have been sore the last couple of days. I lost my angel this last week. Any advice would be appreciated...thank you.

Sorry for your loss. You can put cabbage leaves and wrap your breast with ace bandage tight.

I just weaned two weeks ago, here's what happened. It was sore for two weeks, with lumps and hard spots. Sometimes the milk would leak. Gradually it would soften up and the leaking milk became leaking colostrum. On week 3 now and the nipples are tender but it's going away. I didn't do anything, just waited it out. I'm sorry for your loss. 😢

1st of all I am very sorry for your lost!! I pray that God gives you the strength and ability to get through this time. In regards to your breastmilk, it will dry up. As long as you are not nursing, squeezing the milk out, or massaging your breast...it will dry out. You can put ice cold cabbage leaves on each breast to help relieve pain & engorgement...your milk will dry out shortly after as well using the cabbage leaves. God bless you.
