Question: What is a strep b test? & when do you have to go to the doc to do that?

They swab your vaginal and rectal openings with a q-tip like thing. I got mine done around 35- 36 weeks.

@mamamj, & @mypreemieprincess what does that actually do to you or the baby? Just curious because this is all new to me lol FTM

I got mine done last week at my 35 week appointment.

You may have it with no symptoms, but pass it to baby during birth. It cause a fever, difficulty feeding, things of that nature.

strep b? it's just dangerous during delivery. they put you on antibiotics when you deliver if positive. ..it's just a naturally occurring bacteria.

I'm 36 +2 and getting my cervix checked and the strep b test today.

I get my test done at my 36 week appointment!
