I got injured at work a couple weeks back and my dr gave me days off to rest . I had all proper documents and my manager said I could return with an excuse. My doctor put a restriction list on the excuse saying I can't lift nor stand for more than two hours and it stated I was pregnant . Now my job doesn't want to put my back on the schedule. They are saying I need specifics and explanations for my exemptions . I feel like he doesn't want me on the schedule because I'm pregnant. Before he found out I was the best quickest worker working 6 days 41 hours now I can't return . Am I being dramatic or not ?
Ditto @showersoverflowers it sucks but maybe it can make a difference to speak up, even if it's just getting back pay or back on the schedule for a while. And I hope your next boss isn't an ignorant jerk 😞
Don't get ugly. just get real. do some research on your rights as an employee with needs and bring them up. They will find reasons to not fire you but leave you off the schedule but they have try to accommodate your needs despite the inconvenience to them. this will very likely not end well so look for another job.I understand there's not a ton available in some places but someone will be kind and accommodating. Don't forget to pray about it
@showersoverflowers, and I tried so hard not to be rude I'm actually proud . But they are playing with my money and time and I have a child to tend to.
yep you're exactly right. they try to find reason after reason. It gets old dealing with people like that
That's exactly what I think discrimination . my grandma says just leave it alone and find somewhere else it's not worth it @chrissytee
Where the hell do you work? I work undercover security at Walmart & I worked up until 2 days before I went in to labor & never encountered so many problems during my pregnancy! Jesus. I'm sorry! I would say go somewhere else.. Or take it above the persons head who is doing this because in my opinion your restrictions are reasonable and that may be discrimination
@chrissytee, @0816mommy and on top of that he sent my check in the mail took out 20$ instead of 10$ for my uniform . And 15$ for mailing the check and gave me minimum wage 7.25 per hour instead of promised 7.60$ and he doesn't answer the phone and barely texts back. His response was he is only responsible for paying me not answering questions
oh okay that's weird, they can give you 15min breaks every two hours. I worked with a girl who needed those restrictions and we worked outdoors 8-12 hours. they should be able to smh
I work in a fast paced factory and we make parts for Subaru and I handle the wiring harnesses for the dashboard and we work 8-10 hours for 5-6 days a week and my calves just started swelling and it gets painful to walk and my new shift lead tells me last night that I can't sit down so I am going to talk to my doctor on July 7th about restrictions or early maternity leave but I have bills to pay ($60 in child support a week, rent, elec, phone and Internet bill) but thankfully my husband works at the same company
