This rubbery/plastic thing you put on that protects the nipple, it has holes in it so they get the milk through that. I was putting lanolin on and using the shield and my nipples were able to heal

There's no need to pump if he is latching right now, Then you only need to start pumping once a day two weeks before you go to work to have enough for the first dy. on the first day, you pymp for the second and so on

@meagansimone, they changed the flange twice and couldn't figure out why it was doing it. But my son latches and eats very well

Your flanges may be the wrong size.

They're sore from being cracked when I attempted to pump. @meagansimone

The soreness should ease up soon. If your nips are still sore this next week or so, check babys latch.
