okay ladies with tattoos would you recommend to get a tattoo during pregnancy? or has any of you gotten tattoos during pregnancy? its totally safe. same risks for pregnant women as non pregnant people. of course it will be professional..I just want some insight.

it's definitely not safe, who told you it was? you're at high risk for infection that can spread to baby your immune system is compromised
nooooooo worse thing you can do this coule affect the baby i told my doctor and he told me you can go into labor or risk of infection the ink could be bad for the baby
I've been wanting one since forever. I got pregnant and had a miscarriage then I was bouncing back and got pregnant a month after. I breastfed for a year and two months then I got pregnant again. I literally haven't been able to. this time for sure I'm getting a tattoo after the baby and I heal like you said. thank you so much for the advice. I appreciate it. 😊
@anayeli, I want more too! wait until you are recovered like the six weeks just incase because you are still prone to infection. you doctor can also give you a time you'll be cleared to get one! might be sooner for you than six weeks :) id generally wait at least till a month because hormones can cause weird reactions to getting tattoos. skin will be a little more sensitive until you are healed
@taishasavage, thank you for the info. I've been wanting a tattoo so bad but I'll wait. how long would I have to wait? I won't be breastfeeding.
that being said, once you have the baby you'll be good to get as many as you want :) 9 months isnt too long to wait lol
I worked at a tattoo parlor for 4 years. we did not tattoo pregnant woman due to the risk of infection. yes as with all people there is that risk but when there is a baby inside you that risk increases significantly. its a huge liability to the store and reputation of the parlor.

My brother in law is a tattoo artist. And in no way do they tattoo pregnant women
there's no law that prohibits getting a tattoo but its just not recommended. I was reading an article about it about a week ago on a pregnancy magazine. it had pros and con's. idk why it would.. dont worry girls, I wont be getting a tattoo until after my 40 days rest period.
