the glucose test is to make sure you don't have gestational diabetes. definitely have to have it done. call an ask your ob/midwife about it.

no u dont request it. they do it .. based on how many weeks u are. soon u will get more tests done.

you are supposed to get it. no. we don't request it. you should definitely ask your doctor cause you are supposed to get it between 24 and 28 weeks.

@momtobeagain, I haven't gotten that done as yet and I'm 27 weeks 😔 my doctor never told me about any tests

the glucose test isnt until 28-30 weeks .. you will probably have it done next appt.. but if your doctor is like mine, she wasnt in a rush for me to have it.. i never had protein in my urine.. but lord if have every other blood work done lol..

he could be confused and maybe thought he gave you the drink. I would call them tomorrow and ask.

I would call and ask because they surprised me with it. and I had too much sugar. so I'm taking it at the end of this month.

my drs office doesn't do the glucose test till after 27 weeks. I doing mine at 27 weeks and 1 day because we are going on leave but it wasn't supposed to be done till 28 weeks. I know some women on here have told me they never had to do it. it might be the drs preference.

they have a blood test that checks for down syndrome and other things.

the only other test I can think of is the strep b but they don't usually check for that until 36 weeks I believe. ask about the tdap vaccine as well. (they gave me mine when I did the glucose test.) it'll protect baby until they can be vaccinated for it

glucose test should be comin soon for u. and then they do tdap for whoopin cough. and then at 36 weeks they do group b .. and take more blood from u.

@themommaoffour i had my gbs dones yesterday actually. .. the sooner the better, i head that bacteria is bad for the baby.. soo she did mine yesterday and my blood work when i came in for contractions

@lilfree16, the gbs bacteria can be very bad for baby. if you test positive for it they'll give antibiotics while in labor they try to get 4 sacks of antibiotics in before baby comes. my midwife said they can also do a month of antibiotics before delivery. (depending on the situation)
