@wscst4, oh yeah totally different story then. I agree with others and hope you've called around to switch providers!

I've only had two, a dating ultrasound and the anatomy ultrasound. I'm 30 weeks but measuring at 35 so now they're making me have another one next week at 31 weeks 😓 I also heard it can be bad to have too many so I'm a little worried I guess.

Ive heard ultrasounds as late as 28 weeks, I wouldnt be surprised if the doc didnt do anymore after that. Hopefully in your case they continue, but insurance wont cover unless they deam it medically necessary. @katietay34 I know I hated that they didnt continue to check, but my doc explained why later on. Now I know what to expect with my next baby haha

@wscst4 yeah no, with a calcium spot you NEED an ultrasound to check her. That OB is ridiculous and doesn't sound like she knows what she's doing, is there a partner with her?

Maybe bring up the concern that your baby had the calcium on her heart, and you want to have it checked. This late in pregnancy, it can be very difficult since the baby is so big though

@wscst4 that's not right they should 've measuring you and feeling in your tumny and at this point checking your cervix. Definitely switch

I had one at 8, 12, 20(anatomy scan/gender reveal) and my last one yesterday at 35 weeks that's all my insurance covers.

@daedaee93, @katarama @kbrown91 @hermommy @_akgirl @mamamoonbaby @rachel8792 see I heard and I understand that you usually only get 2 sonos but I've only had 1 which was the day I found out what I was having and then I got send to a specialist because they found a little white calcium on my baby's heart a week after my first sono they told me my OB will keep checking on her and she never did I've never even gotten my belly measured just my weight and heart beat and this week they said she was positioned wrong that they couldn't check her heart beat properly. I got a 3d ultrasound at 29w at a total different location but they couldn't give me any info only reassured me she was still a she

Switch Hun! I did at 30 weeks and it was the best thing I did.. I'm now 33 weeks and feel like I will now have the support I need till I meet my son.

I'm not high risk and I've had an ultrasound every visit. I'm 26 weeks and go every 4 weeks. So I've had 5 done now... I think it's strange that most doctors don't give you an ultrasound for every visit. That just isn't right to me.

I tried to switch ob's at 33 weeks so I could deliver somewhere else and EVERYONE I called either didn't accept patients already in the 3rd trimester or didn't accept my insurance, or both. :/

Doctors usually wont do ultrasounds past your gender/anatomy scan unless its a high risk, or he thinks something is wrong. Insurance wont cover it unless its medically necessary. During this time the doctor will measure you, take a urine sample, and blood pressure. If the doc thought the baby was not growing right, they would do an ultrasound, but they know based off of just tummy measurements. Its frustrating, but almost any doctor follows these steps, unless its a high risk, which is the exception. When I was pregnant with my first, I had 5 other co workers just a few weeks ahead, and they all had the same experience. Its the norm apparently :/

Usually you don't get one this late, if you're pregnancy is going good. like @katarama a lot of insurances won't cover it. just the first trimester sono and the anatomy scan. I seriously doubt you'll find a doctor to do one, and most won't accept you this far into your pregnancy. @wscst4

I switched at 39, 40 and I'm now at 42 with no Dr. and a very healthy baby of course. It's never too late. Perhaps reconsider repeated ultrasounds though, there still is very little concrete evidence that the heat doesn't damage tissue etc the later in term you are. I bought a fetal heart Doppler from fetaldoppler.net for added reassurance and used it maybe once or twice a month. Good luck!

it also depends on your insurance. i only had 2 ultrasounds my whole pregnancy. they should be measuring you each appointment to check baby's growth. are they not?

missing268user

after the anatomy there is no more ultrasounds at all normally.

After your anatomy scan most doctors will only schedule an ultrasound if they're concerned about baby's growth or a possible complication. Most insurances don't cover many ultrasounds so they try to keep it to as few as possible.

Usually the nurse or your doctor will let you know when it's time too schedule an ultrasound appointment

Transgender children So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are your thoughts on the matter? Do u think the parents are behind this? Idk because I haven't met the parents or children. I just think at 5 it's very young for children to really understand. What do u ladies think?

My stomach is sooo heavy at this point I’m ready for these 4 weeks to fly by !! Idk why my stomach be so huge for my kids to come weighing 5/6 pounds at 39 weeks they be so tiny compared to most the babies in the nursery !!! Maybe I carry a lot of water idk but it makes no sense and I guarantee when I go for my sono next week when I turn 36 weeks they gone say she’s only 4 pounds right now !!!
