I'm a single mom with a 6 yr old daughter and have a baby due august. I can go back to work in November but my parents have helped me get a laywer and Im waiting to hear back on ssi i have a dr signing off on it.

but I feel so helpless living at my parents with soon 2 kids

do I stop ssi and return to work or just wait until ssi comes in

my parents are great and my daughter has her own room and my baby will be in mine.

I guess what Im asking is would you live with youre parents meanwhile and wait on reliable income

or chance everything to go back to work.

Id be able to stay at home with my kids.

you should stay at home if your parents are letting you. just at least till you get back on your feet.

@j.desantiag09, Yeah I agree I did make good money and Had a 3 bedroom duplex by myself but decided to move hom because I was having a hard time working. they want me to stay home and be with my kids. daycare would be rough for a newborn then 1 in school.

I think the best option is to stay with your mom. I moved out of my parents house and now I keep talking with my dad about moving back in, that way we can both help each other out especially when money is tight. If we work hard the day will come when we will be able to support our parents like they did us.

she's on low income housing section 8 in fact. they pay a percentage and she has 100 dollars left after her half of rent. 100 dollars isn't that much for food in a month honestly. she gets a whopping $20 dollars a month for food stamps. she used to get more but ssi benefits are constantly being cut.

it took her what 20? years to get approved.

I don't know your personal situation. but ssi is a very small fixed income. my mom can't pay for rent and groceries on her ssi income she gets like $600 a month.

@tuesday011, I havent been approved yet and I think you can only work so many hours and make so much income. the job im on fmla from I was a sales manager for sprint and its full time only. and you have to work part time on ssI . Im sure Ill work part time once approved but I hate this waiting. and I dont want to jeapordize not getting approved. 😔😧
