Can you be Dilated without losing your mucus plug? & do you always notice when you lose your plug?

I never noticed mine come with either of my boys. Currently almost 36 weeks and haven't noticed if I've lost it or not.

yes. I was 44 hours into labor at 8cm before I had my bloody show. but started losing my plug at 22 weeks.
