he's got this, men get custody all the time, even in Texas. They don't put up with neglect... My nieces dad got custody of her in Texas all because my sister wasn't "doing things right" in the man's lawyers eye. Since you live in Dallas you have bomb lawyers there, I'll see if I can find a couple in the morning for yall! good luck:)

@armstrong2, unfortunately that often doesn't matter here, I've seen it happen first hand where the mother still gets custody even though there was evidence of abuse and neglect. Hopefully he can get custody though, if it's best for the child.

yeah we understand it completely and we know that its gonna cost a pretty big penny. but its wayyyy to many issues he has ran into and he has been finding other issues a 5 year old shouldn't go thru. @ashsloan

He is in for a tough battle, Texas is a mothers state. It's super freaking hard for a father to get custody here unless the mother either signs her rights away or is in jail, even with a bunch of evidence stacked against her it's really hard. Look for lawyers in bigger cities though, SA, Houston, or DFW they're usually the better ones in the state. It's not going to be cheap though, it's probably going to be hella expensive for one of those lawyers but their his only chance really, since Texas is such a crappy state about custody
