So mommies what do you do when you have in laws that smoke? Idk how to discuss this with my husband I'm so scared to have my baby come visit especially when 3 people in one household smokes. I was told in my prenatal course to not even allow the baby around people that have smoke in their clothing so idk how to handle this situation. Anyone been in a similar position
They were but I don't care. You may have tried to kill your child while he grew up but I'm damn well going to protect mine. They were more than welcome to shower and come over to our house to see the baby. They way I look at it is if the child means that much to you, it won't matter what you have to do to see them. And if you chose not to, that's your prerogative and your demons to deal with. My husband was frustrated with it for awhile but my family jumps through any and all hoops. So I told him his could too. It's not asking a lot.... I also went crazy and made people provide proof of the whooping cough before coming to see my child too.
lay down the law. tell them not to smoke before seeing the baby cause the baby can still get secondhand smoke from their clothes. your child your rules
@dcb012, were the offended? I already don't visit as much as I should because I cannot stand smoke smell even before I was pregnabtv
@cubanese, but it's my husband family so I can't just ignore them because it will be their grandchild
I don't allow my daughter to their house if they smoke inside. If they go outside they must change clothes or coat and wash their hands before touching her. When she was just born they couldn't hold her if they had smoked period. My husband has asthma and his mom and whole family still smoke like chimneys.... Dumbasses...
Yes I have been in the same exact situation. I wouldn't allow my son at my in laws house because they refused to wash their hands or change their clothes. The baby's doctor told me that the smoke can cause pneumonia.
