the closer I get to having my daughter, the more nervous and scared I am. since she is my first, I've been doing research about how to labor and give birth easily, but, there technically isn't an "easy" way, just methods to help. I have been so set on not having an epidural but,I don't know if I can go through without having one bc I'm starting to get super anxious about it and I don't wanna look weak, bc that's just my personality but, I just don't know. anybody else feel scared about giving birth, or is it just me?
@blessedwithberetta, my husband is a little overreactive. if I even look like I'm in pain, he's ready to go to the hospital. he is always asking if I'm having contractions if I get a sharp pain or something. idk if that's a good thing or what, but, he's always been super supportive and tells me I'll do fine. his mom and my mom are both gonna be there, and my mom went natural with nothing at all, and his mom had an epidural after 36 hours of labor, so I have support either way I go, I just over think and think the worst when really it's nothing to worry to seriously about.
@_kmoss.madisonsmommy_, it really isn't as bad as you think..well to me it wasnt. I had my first baby 3 months ago completely natural with no iv meds or epidural. stay at home as long as you can, when I finally decided to go to the hospital i was already 6 centimeters so I was like yayy it won't be nothing for the last half. I had a very quick labor though. just relax and focus. I didn't cry , just yelled oh fuck when she was crowning lol I didn't tear, but I did poop. my nurse said if you don't poop, you ain't pushing right. It's really not as bad, I promise. And I was up walking around right after I had her
I'm scared of needles. like, I have panic attacks just getting my blood taken, it sucks. so, that's why I wasn't wanting one. but, my husband thinks I'll do fine, with or without one, and he's been the most positive one the whole pregnancy, I'm just hoping that we have a fast labor and delivery. but thank you for the positive thoughts 💜 it helps alot. @sweetpea_nut
Yeah I really didn't want to have an epidural but after 12 hours of labor I couldn't take it anymore. I had back labor so I'll be honest and say it was a painful 30 second, 4 minute interval. They gave me IV pain first and it was a God sent lol. I'm proud I even lasted that long without medication lol. The epidural was not scary as I thought it would be. I had a nurse in front of me making sure I was ok and the anesthesiologist was behind letting me know every step he was doing. It only took a couple minutes and boy I was happy haha. I did tear which I'm still feeling but it gets better every day. You can't make it worse. They'll go over every little thing to properly take care of yourself and to promote a healthy recovery. You will do great I promise ❤️
@efflyn, pooping doesn't scare me as much as ripping. @mamamj I was going to go natural with pain meds and no epidural, but, my anxiety is taking over bad and I just don't what to do.
I think that feeling is pretty common and not reserved just for FTMs. Don't rule out an epidural, but I would suggest trying the IV pain relief first, it just depends on your tolerance. If you get the epidural, I would have the anesthesiologist tell what they are doing as they do it, I responded to getting one better that way.
@_kmoss.madisonsmommy_, my husband is too, but he was working while I was at home alone in labor lol I didn't want to tell anyone and it not be the real thing. he was so tore up in the delivery room, especially after they put me on oxygen he was crying and I didn't look at anyone but the doctor or I would have broke down lol. and as crazy as it may seem, relax you jaw, shoulder and neck and it helps sooo much
