I was told to fast before it. If you eat it messes up the readings

yeah, mine said just eat like an hour in a half before & not a sugary breakfast. high protein.

@alainasmommy916, I was told the same the first time I did one. I ate regular and some sweets. I wouldn't recommend the sweets. Lol. But thankfully, I still passed mine. :)

My doc said eat like normal as well. They want to know how your blood sugar would be throughout a normal day

i was told as long as i don't eat sugary cereal or ice cream before my appointment i would be fine. i had an instant breakfast probably an hour or so before my appointment (i didn't know I'd have my glucose testing that day either) and everything was fine. the obgyn i had before my midwife told me i couldn't eat anything past midnight the night before. so it just depends.

I talked to mine and she said that it's not a fasting test and that I could eat just not a lot of carbs or sugars

They told me to eat a normal meal and then wait an hour and then drink it and then be to my appointment and have my blood drawn an hour after I drank it

Mine is at 8 am and they told me to stop eating at 12. Maybe it's a weight thing. I'm "morbidly obese"
