It's not easy and takes some practice! If you have big nipples make sure you are sized correctly or else it'll be unnecessarily painful! You can also look into trying BeauGen's nipple cushions if you experience uncomfortable rubbing against the plastic flanges

Are you exclusively pumping? I see your baby isn't a week old yet.. You shouldn't be pumping yet if you're also breastfeeding because it can cause over supply which is crazy painful.

@sev1226 ahh OK see they didn't tell me any of this in the hospital. my nipples are crazy sore anyway just from her. I only pump once a day to have a bottle at night because it's too painful. I'm just waiting for my nipples to toughen up. then I'll only breastfeed.

When baby is about a month old

But if you're giving her a bottle as well then do what you have to do :) just don't pump more than once a day

@hailholla1412, before you start pumping make sure only your nipple fits into the tunnel of the flange. Every mom is different so you have to see which one suits you best.
