went to my appointment this morning for a full Sonagram screening I'm 36 weeks an they said the umbilical cord isn't working properly an he's only barely 4 pounds an not growing properly so they gave me a shot to enhance his lungs I have to go in tommorrow an get another shot an have the baby an me monitored for a bit an the doctor wants to induce me next Thursday or Friday or sooner depending on how things look tommorrow because they said it's not good for him to be so small for how far along I am an the umbilical cord not doing its job probably so they want the shots ther giving me to help his lungs develop an they think I shud be induced by next Friday if not sooner an they said since he's so small he might not react properly to the induction an I might need a c-section

Positive thoughts momma. I have a 29 weeker. I know it gets scary but things have a crazy way of working out. Just stay positive.

I'm sorry you're going thru this but the good thing is they caught it early enough to be able to help him get ready for an early arrival. I hope he won't have to be away from you for too long 💛

The steroid shots are pretty good. Plus you're far enough along that there probably won't be too many issues. There's different forms of breathing assistance a baby may need, but I'm guessing even with the cord issue your baby shouldn't need to be on the vent, and probably won't need cpap either, maybe the nasal cannula (regular oxygen through the nose) but it wouldn't be bad.

I just want him to be healthy an not have to have that tube down his throat to breathe that they said he might need I've seen those on babies an it's scary to me

It's a lot to think about. How are you handling the decision? It sounds scary, but things have a way of working out. You'll be able to make it through this. Stay positive.
