Has anybody had any experience with using fennel oil (essential oil, topically) to boost milk supply? I was recommended to try an all natural one that I've ordered online... in the meantime, I bought a tincture liquid of fennel oil at the vitamin shop but it says not to use if nursing or pregnant. I'm so confused! the one I bought is for ingesting, until I receive the essential oil to rub topically on my breasts. anyone have any success or been recommended fennel oil in any form? I've also been taking galacticGold lactation blend with fenugreek and marshmallow root.
ALSO... should I be pumping more if my baby feeds constantly and I have a decreasing let down/super soft squishy boobs now? I'm scared of losing this incredibly important experience I'm willing to do anything to boost my supply! thank you in advance
@mommastone, thank you so so very much, it's been such a struggle and it's like a cycle when she gets upset I get upset and I can't shake it, I am.so determined to keep BFing for as long as possible and it gets me down that it's only been a couple weeks. I'm trying to keep hope, thank you for pushing that it gets better. ❤
Oh okay! You got this Hun. It will happen and also it is completely normal to go up and down with a pump session. It is actually better to have them on the nipple more because the saliva creates more. You pump after a feed? Don't loose hope! You are in such the early weeks and have so many wonderful months ahead. :) PPD is horrible hugs!
Not long at all. I would say after a couple of times. I'd say as often as you can.. I am horrible at drinking fluids. 3/4 times a day did it for me for sure. The way it works is, you drink a cup within an hour ur more full if that makes sense.
@lilianaandsavannasmommy28, @katushahendesonblog thank you ladies! I'll definitely try that, I've heard the same thing I just hate the smell/taste, I'm willing to try it! @mommastone thank you for reassuring me, she is gaining just fine which is great, but I'm not able to produce even a third as much as I used to via pump when I try and she gets so frustrated sometimes. she has reflux and throws up a lot after eating (working on fixing that as well) but she's so hungry right after and doesn't poop frequently. she gets so angry and upset and I get so stressed when she has trouble latching after she gets sick, and I can't express milk afterward whereas I used to be able to. I'm working through some PPD and in the meantime I want to help the physical.producrion of my milk without prescription.
Everyone is different! If your baby is getting enough pees and past birth weight and keeps on gaining, your supply is fine! Let down or soft breasts doesn't always mean lower supply. You may have regulated early. Plus they feed so much at this time. Besides softer boobs and the let down, is there other factors?
