What are some of your guys thoughts on rice cereal 🤔 my babies no where near ready but it's been bothering me because…

Everything I have read says it is no good and there is no point! They say to just go ahead and start with purées that actually have nutrition! Feeding them straight empty carbohydrates is not nutritious at all! So I think you're right!

don't wanna start any solids til 6mo, or until their tongue reflex has vanished.

@katielong, yeah I've read that his little to know nutritional value and they can't really digest it at that age, everyone says it helps them sleep through the night but I'm use to waking up 2-3 times so it wouldn't matter anyways lol.

ahh, okay. sorry. but yeah what @katielong said, no nutritional value at all. Only thing I think its good for is to fatten a baby up if needed and even then, its only used for a short period of time.

I'm not putting my baby girl on that at all.

Yeah, my mom keeps telling me my son will sleep longer when we start food but I've read studies on that that say it isn't true. I know in some peoples experience it seems like it does, but it's usually just a coincidence and it definitely doesn't work for everyone, so it's just not worth it to me!

It's bad. The FDA recently limited the arsenic in it. It doesn't help baby sleep longer or add weight. It also is basically sugar with the process they use to make it.

I'm not going to use rice cereal at all... It has absolutely no nutritional value at all and I just don't see a point when you can wait for them to start on regular baby food at 6 months

don't use it it doesn't help at all. some people have said it supposedly helps babies sleep through the night which isn't true. your baby won't sleep through the night until they are mature enough for it. babies are made to wake up & they do so for more reasons than just because they are hungry.

they say at 4 months I didn't user it with my first 2 though so I'm sure I wont this time either
