So my Dr. office called today saying my blood work came back saying I have low iron. what does that mean? what can low iron do? and what kind of affect does it have?
My friend has low iron and said if she isn't pumping iron all day until her baby is born she'll bleed out when she has the baby, so just eat lots of iron and take iron pills!
@bellasmommy516, I eat a lot of cereal but its with 0 percent milk cause I can't handle milk well could that be absorbing the iron to?
@cbe2016, they put me on a diet because of my blood pressure and stuff and now low iron to. I feel like in falling apart. they said if I don't improve by next Thursday I have to be put on bed rest.
eating and drinking a lot of dairy will absorb the iron in your blood. my iron has been low but not to the point of anemic. they will just have you take extra vitamins to help boost the iron levels
I have it to. just take iron pills. I still haven't gotten mine yet but need to!#
It can cause hemmoraging during or after labor. You just need to take a prenatal with extra iron in it and eat dark green leafy veggies.
I have low iron too, I have anemia, & I have to take 2 tablets of iron a day too, its not that bad, you just have to get more iron in your system
they prescribed me some to. I haven't went to get them yet. they called telling me that.
please don't think I'm trying to scare you, in my case I'm extremely anemic and have been since before I was pregnant, my hemoglobin levels won't stay up and I've had to get blood transfusions and will again before I can give birth so I don't bleed out having my son. however I'm one of the lucky VERY few like this. normally you just take iron pills and watch how much dairy you eat because it lowers your iron, add more green vegetables to your diet, and it will make you less tired and your head feel better. and your Dr should retest through out your pregnancy to make sure things stay OK (: I hope all stays good for you momma
