Question, to all the mamas who strictly breastfed or are still currently. Miles is 5 weeks and super hungry all the time. He's gaining weight like a champ. Although I know he needs to eat every two hours, he's hungry much sooner than that. I've tried adding a little rice cereal to his diet, but he's still super hungry often. Any suggestions??

Yes I thought it was odd too, so that's why I wanted to ask all of you ladies bc it didn't feel right to me. I just seriously think he's in a stage where he's hungry a lot

I'm surprised they suggested that. I used to nanny for a kid and when he was 3 months old he has to have surgery because a muscle or valve probably something in his stomach got messed up from his mom introducing "solids" too soon. Be very careful even tho Dr suggested it. I'd look into the Virgin gut and just try to hang in there!! Some babies just love the boob haha. Nephew is almost 2 years and eats table foods and everything and he still wants to nurse every hour or so for 20+ minutes. as an infant he was pretty much attached to the boob. every kiddo is different! (: Best wishes!!

I'm so surprised his doctor suggested that! That's old school. He might be using you as a pacifier too for comfort. Cluster feedings don't last too long. Hang in there!

Ok I will definitely keep doing that. The only reason why I started the rice cereal today was per my pedatrician's suggestion. Cluster feeding due to a growth spurt makes so much sense! Thanks again ladies!! :)

@ausipipilo, maybe he's too full. They usually say at that age only 1-2 oz should be sufficient. 5 weeks is pretty early to start putting cereal in his bottle. Unless your pediatrician suggested. Every baby is different. Or as the other mom said maybe growth spurt. Good luck with your LO.

At 5 weeks he is having a growthspurt and is cluster feeding. Just keep feeding. its normal
