Is it just me or has there been a crazy spike in C-Section births? Almost everyone I know has had to have one, including myself! What's going on here??
i have to have one because i was leaking the fluid. around the baby at 37 week and the my son broke my water. so they let me. wait. till i stated to. get past 1 cm i never went past two with. beening induced i was in labor over 25 hours. and had to have a c section. so did my sil she start to swell and he turn his head and her bp went up she got a fever so they did her the same way same doctor. did both
Now a lot of people have a choice on if they want to have a c-section or not. I almost had to be planning one because of placenta prevera and didn't have to have it but my doctors still pushed for one because they say he's goin to be to big for me to deliver. All in all I thinks it's just something doctors would rather do. Well at least mine seem to be that way.
I've been wondering the same.. I can understand if it's multiples or if something went wrong or its otherwise truly needed, but otherwise I'm not a fan of doing things that derail from the natural way, especially if it's due to a ridiculous reason like it being easier for the doctors like @arivera64 mentioned. Babies come in their own time and I'll definitely keep it that way at least with my pregnancy. No reason to decide on behalf of my baby when they're ready to come into the world.
@mommyandbriston, yeah I had an emergency c-section with my son. I'm trying for a vbac this time around. I guess in other countries c-section rates are like 1-10% and here they are like 50-70%. I might be off on the precentages though. I know we are the highest pretty much out of every where
Because ppl are rushing to have their babies before they are ready. Begging for inductions. Doctors are telling women that their babies are too big, or that at 38 weeks their cervix isn't doing anything and they will need to be induced. Women are going to the hospital too early into labor and when they aren't progressing as fast as the doctors want......csections happen
I would have given anything to do natural!! That emergency c section was the scariest thing of my life, and people are actually choosing to do them?? @laytons_mommy that blows my mind.
I had an emergency c section at 40 weeks. I think it might have to do with now that we've had one, we notice them a lot more haha. But yeah it seems like everyone has had one lately!
