So, I don't allow my children to watch TV everyday... Only every other day for a few hours....
Otherwise, I have Trell read to Jody, read his books, Jody practices his name, they color and they play with the countless things they have in their room unless weather permits otherwise.
I was told I'm restricting them from being children and having favorite programs and characters. 😒

@marskhaos, exactly. I was a nanny for a family with 4 children and they (as I do now) only had one TV in the parents room and they only watched 2x a week. it made sense, some of these shows are outrageous

There are multiple studies out there showing the negative effects on children that watch tv and use iPads/smart phones too young and too often! You are doing the best thing for them! Tell them they are keeping their kids from a great childhood and life because they don't require them to read and be creative 😉

@kenitra, I didn't know that. I just feel like they are better acting children since I've limited their watching. like it make them like each other more lol

@yanelmarie, Concentration issues that affect them in school, ADD and lots of other things. Just do a google search for it and you will see all of the info out there. By real medical experts. This baby isn't watching tv or using an iPad/iPhone until after 2 years old!

I don't feel like you are limiting them, I feel you are introducing them to other activities that will benefit them better than knowing the latest shows and characters.

someone has already said to me "no matter what you do SOMEONE is always gonna criticize you and your parenting" . of it was vice versa andu let ur kids watch TV all the time then someone would make the comment that u let then watch too much tv.. fuck em lol

I don't even own a tv. Let someone come tell me that's preventing my future kids from being kids. I never had a tv as a child. I was always outside or doing puzzles coloring etc inside and I turned out just fine. Whoever said that to you can shove it where the sun doesn't shine. ☀️

I think restricting would be allowing them to watch tv for hours a day! I've been a nanny for a few years and I see how kids get, they're so spaced out. Especially when I see parents allow babies to look at tv, it's bad for their eyesight when they're that little.
