Just asking for opinions, is it true that using your breast pump helps induce labor or start contractions? Cause I've been thinking about trying it because I've heard it does but I'm also not sure because I don't want to start using my pump and my milk starts and I pump all my colostrum and can't make none at the hospital, or something like that. But I've also read some other moms that tried it could still produce colostrum and that your actual milk doesn't come until the baby is actually born. But even if I decide to try it and I do pump my colostrum couldn't I just freeze it and take it to the hospital with me when baby does decide to come? I'm hearing a lot of pros and cons about it so I just wanna know what do you moms think of it? Should I try, should I not? If you have tried it, does it really work? And please be kind ladies, I'm just curious.

it certainly helped for me.. I walked, bounced, sex and pumped.. after the 3rd time pumping my water broke.. I did the other things over the same week. yes you can save your colostrum but you won't produce milk until 2-5 days after baby is born.

@wiccanmommy, when you say 3rd time do you mean like 3 times in one set or 3 separate times? And did you pump any colostrum?

you can also take evening primrose oil, it is used by many midwives to induce labor. I plan on using it at 38 wks

Nipple stimulation was recommended by my OB-GYN to induce labor!

yes pumping is basically nipple stimulation

yes on the colostrum. 2 times one day and 1 time the day my water broke.
