I'm gonna be honest. I'm not ashamed of any of it. Yes I am on Food Stamps. I am on WIC. Yes I am on Section 8. But I just got married this weekend and I am afraid that I'm going to get kicked off everything because I got married. He has a good job he make 13.72 hr. Works 9hrs a day Mon-Fri but Child Support takes most of his check, so I guess I'm saying we are gonna be homeless and hungry. We have a 20 month old lil boy and a lil girl due in 3weeks. I am so happy to be married to the love of my life but the financial situation is starting hit me. I know I need to work but I plan on it but not til my newborn is a lil bit older.

i would let them know asap because your more likely to get kicked off if they find out and you dont tell them cause then they think your purposely not telling them. my friend has been married for a year she has 3 kids 2 with her husband and the other with her ex she hasnt changed her last name or told food stamps about it and he works in the oil field making plenty to support them but when food stamps finds out they will kick her off and they may or may not make her pay so much of her food stamps back that shes been using. difference between her and you is your husband makes 13 and pays child support so you wont be kicked off she will cause her husband makes plenty and shes been hiding it for over a year. its just better to be honest imstead of hide it cause they may make you pay stuff back if you dont notify them

@oklahoma.girl55, that's exactly what I'm also afraid of! My lil ones might not get there Medicaid for their pediatrician visits and such. But we decided just to get married and deal with these problems as they come at us. But don't know if we had to report it ASAP or wait til it's time to renew them? Like next month when I have to add my newborn to my food stamps will they want to know that I'm married ? When food stamps find out will section 8 know? Or will section 8 kick me out on my ass with 2 babies will they even let
my fiance is pushing our wedding off for a whole year cause hes afraid ill lose my medicade with him making 13 an hour and we need it cause we cant afford the medical bills
@shannaa24, I am so worried about it. I don't want to be kicked out of my lil apartment we've lived here for the past 2yrs and made it home. This is all my son knows. Do you think they'll just had him to our Lease and go accordingly to his income?
with him being the only one working making $13 plus child support. you'll still get covered. you don't have to renew till it's that time. no they won't take it all away from you. there's no way you could pay all your bills and pay for food on a low income.
@proudmommy23, I've felt with Foodstamps and wic in the past. never section 8. but I'm sure they'll work with you and go off of his income. your kids will still stay on medicaid. you don't have to report anything asap, till your renew time comes.
everything should still be covered. they will want to see his income and his bills. Does he have a background? if so I don't what they will do about section 8. my fiance has a background. we've been together for 8 1/2 years. I've never added him to Foodstamps in the past, or to my leases. we've wanted to get married in the past, but we're unable to. we do it all on our own. I hated dealing with the stress of government assistance in the past. We both just got into a house where we have both our names on the lease.
