What other mommies went over their due date and had to be induced? I'm scheduled for induction this Wednesday and honestly I'm terrified. I just want to know what to expect.

@simone.nicole87 Oh my goodness!!! Yeah I definetely plan on the epidural, I'm dialated to a 3 now and 90 effaced so who knows how long it'd go. it's definetely the fear of the unknown cause I've never even been in the hospital for even a simple surgery. I'm excited to move this along though!!! and i dont want the contractions to just start full force without me being prepared lol

Every mama is so different. My cousin was induced with her first and from the time she got hooked up til she delivered was a total of 5.5 hours. and everything went super smooth. So it just depends on your body.

🙋 Me. Its not scary girl. dont be afraid. i def think the fear of the unknown is scary but just think of the outcome. i was induced at 42.5 weeks and they hooked me up to all the IV's at 7am than around noon since my water had not broke on its own, the doctor broke my water. by midnight i still was only dilated to a 3 she did not wanna come out. i got an epidural 12 hours into it cause the contractions got too intense for me (i wanted to go natural) i had her at 6:20am the next morning. labor was almost a full 24 hours, almost had to have an emergency csection because she was just too damn cozy in there! lol. I pushed for 45 mins at 9cm (with the help of doc) and she finally made her grand arrival!! looking back it seemed like forever and you def are tired but its not bad at all. I think as women our ideal labor is anywhere from 5-7 hours but i learned truth is with our first its typically much longer. Keep your eye on the prize, you are going to do amazing. Are you getting an epidural? I went in not wanting one but with this baby boy ill def be getting one as soon as i can, for me it just made it much more tolerable. Good luck mama. cant wait to see pictures.

don't let them give you cervidil to induce you. it's not even safe the FDA warns against its use. make them give you something else if they mention cervidil. but like @gingermama Said no need to be terrified. the worse that can happen is usually failure to progress in which case you get a c section. which aren't totally bad. I will be having my 2nd come October.

What they did to me was they broke me water (didn't work) and started me on pitocin threw a IV unfortunately after 15 hours of labor I was only dilated to 5cm and had to have a c-section

Dont be scared. What they do is give you either pitocin or a medication to induce labor, aka contractions. Basically you will lay there like normal, and gradually contractions will begin and ramp up.
