Moms,
What are your thoughts on co sleeping?
I did with my first son for about 6 months and it was absolute torture trying to get him in his own bed, took us a full year to really get him into it, I plan on having a little rocker by my bed for the first little bit and may nap with him but for the most part gonna try for him in his own bed!♡
@kimlovesherboys, thanks so much! I will definitely do that!
it should be my baby boy loves skin to skin time because your body temperature is the same as the womb and they can hear your heartbeat
@C arlitojrmami, maybe I can have her lay with me in bed until she falls asleep and then place her in her bassinet. That's if I don't fall asleep with her!
@kimlovesherboys, , I like that idea!! I'm so sad I have to put her in infant care so early so I guess I'm just beating myself up about it. I'm terrified of breaking that bond. Luckily I'll be able to walk across the street to breastfeed during my lunch break every day and what not I just hope skin to skin and breastfeeding will be enough to establish the bond I so badly want!
when I brought my son home I did co sleep but only when his daddy wasn't home we had a bassinet next to the bed . his daddy has been gone since he was a month old so I been co sleeping on and off but now I keep transfering him to his bed because I'm scared he will suffocate being that he can roll over
As long as you establish that bond that's all that matters @agastinamarie try doing skin to skin time before bed everyday its sorta like co sleeping but your not sleeping
@Jen idoll, yeah it makes me a little nervous. I've been a pretty light sleeper since being pregnant but when sleep deprived as a new mom I'm sure that'll change! Maybe the bassinet is best.. Idk.
Oh yeah and when he is sick we have him stay in our bed or if he's scared of the storm etc. Hes 5 now so it's easier not to crush him ☺️
you can do skin to skin with your baby I also do that @agastinamarie and when baby falls asleep put the baby in the bassinet
@kimlovesherboys, I do like the napping during the day together idea! I'll only be able to do that on the weekends though. 😔 wish I could be a stay at home mamma but that just doesn't work for our financial situation right now.
@shalene, facts! Savannahs ass is still in my bed and Zs dad always tells me to get Zayd out the bed before we can't get either one out lol
I agree with @brynden.nicholle.0716 I'm a light sleeper but my husband isn't. We've fallen asleep a couple of times together though.
I had my son with me next to me for six months after that he's been in his own room. My husband and I are extremely heavy sleepers and honestly I was afraid to crush the baby. I think that it was the best choice for us. I don't know that I have a desire to co-sleep my sister in law did with her two youngest and just now at 5 and 8 she's getting them to sleep in their own beds. Too much for me to handle.
I co-slept with my first but I'm also a VERY light sleeper. I wouldn't let my hubby co-sleep though, because he rolls over on me and doesn't wake up. lol.
I love it! But you'll regret it when they get older because it's hard to get them out your bed
@jessica0830, awe your munchkin is adorable! 😍@xoxoalexusss lol!!! That is too funny! @kimlovesherboys @karnamarie yeah I was planning on doing the bassinet next to my bed but I've been reading up on co-sleeping and now idk what I'm going to do. I unfortunately have to go back to work 6 weeks after I give birth so my baby will be in infant care across the street during the day so I want to create the best bond I can while I have her, ya know? But then again I'm terrified of suffocating her if she's in bed with me. I just want to do what's best.
@agastinamarie, I will say if you do decide to have the baby in your room if you want them sleeping in their own bed at some point don't wait past 4 months to start putting them in their own bed. The other they get the harder it is to break them
I have never done it. My boys have always slept in their own room in their own beds. I am also afraid of rolling over on my babies. I only let my boys sleep with me when they are sick, and they are 6 and 4yrs old now.
@agastinamarie, I did it at first, but eventually put her in her own crib. I enjoy having my bed back. 😂
my son has his own bassinet beside our bed he sleeps in at night but during the day he sleeps next to me. I don't see nothing wrong with it as long as your aware that your baby is near by
I believe in sleeping...lol However you can get it. I had my daughter in a bassinet next to the bed at first because I was breastfeeding and at night it's much easier but I would be lying if I said I didn't fall asleep with her on my chest a few times.
I did it once , regret it cuz now I can't get rid of him lol
I've never done it. My son doesn't even sleep in the same room as us, he was in his own room from day #1
@agastinamarie, you welcome and good luck
