so my babys dad hasnt been here throughout the first half of my pregnancy and now hes asking for demands like for the baby to have his last name and for him to be on the birth certificate. I'm really not sure about it because we always get into it and hes not even in the right place or mind to raise a child. being on the birth certificate will give him as much custody as i will have and i just dont think im ready to give him that much power. plus he doesn't always claim my son who's not even here yet. i need some advice. btw im due in september so i still have a little bit of time

regardless he is the father give him a chance to grow up but don't deny him the right to see his child or be on the certificate
I wouldn't do it and have him struggle to get his rights he can act right and once the baby is born and he gets what he wants he can start acting up again
@lilbit123, @mamaash i will give it time and see if he proves himself. its just hard when he thinks he can come in and out of my life whenever he wants so it makes me think he'll do the same thing when my son is here

I agree with 👆 you still have time until your baby is born so see how things play out until then and then make your decision
u have some time see what he does in a few months then decide
he needs to prove he can be on the certificate. if he hasn't showed much interest or denies his baby....no last name, and you don't have to name him on the birth certificate. he will have to go through the courts to get his rights and prove parentage

If he hasn't been there for you or baby, he doesn't have that privilege to give him his last name, if he really wants that he can prove it by being there for his son and then if he really wants it he can change it. He can't just have the baby take his name but not do his part as a father.
