6 months, he gets one ounce twice a day, after eating his baby food. I pour maybe 2 ounces and he sips a little here and there from his sippy cup. Doctor and wic approved.

I'm glad he isn't! Mine never did either. I started at 3m just once a week at 4m it was everyday

@camdensmama, so lucky about the constipation. Wish my little lady's intestines worked that well.

@kreeblim, @santistevanmommie @mommyofacountryboy very interesting. My son has been on solids for 2 months now. He's on stage 2 foods. He won't drink out of a sippy yet. But he hasn't been constipated at all since starting solids! And no judging here. 😘😘

I started at 5m when he started a sippy cup. Dr didn't know, how much & when just depends on the day. I fill it up & he carries it all day I freshen it up every so often & keep ice in it so it stays cold

@santistevanmommie I didn't think you were ^_^ I just learned on here recently unless you back up what you say with a disclaimer I could be attacked for giving my little lady water and I didn't want that to happen to me...again.

@kreeblim, I'm not saying your dr is wrong by any means! My daughter didn't start solids until a couple months ago because she doesn't like baby food purées so we did baby led weaning. But that makes a lot of sense my daughter was constipated today and I didn't know that having solids without water could do that.

@santistevanmommie, @camdensmama we started water because we started stage 1 solids had we not started stage 1 solids she wouldn't have gotten started on water. If baby has solids baby need water or they'll get constipated. My husband as a baby got started on salad at 5 months because he was so hungry all the time. Our little lady is just like her dad. I'm just not willing to give her salad when we can afford all her stage 1,2 and 3s

@kreeblim, @santistevanmommie I hate that pedis all are so different on things like this! My LO is 5 months old. But still only drinks his milk. But when I give him a bath he like to drink the water from the sprayer! He always opens his mouth. Then I'll spray his mouth for like .2 seconds. Just so he gets a drop. And he literally will swallow it then open his mouth until I give him more. Lol

My pedi said to start my little lady off with 4oz of water over a full day at 4months old, when we started stage one solids/oatmeal.
