Maybe tmi, but I don't have a picture so not too bad lol. I'm 36 weeks and 2 days today, and I woke up spotting, and with a couple of small clumps which I assume are mucus plug... I called my OB and they said this is normal around this time cause my cervix is softening, and if my body goes into labor then it is just time for baby to be here. I have had mild cramps off and on in my lower belly and my back, it just feels like my period is going to start, and it's only once or twice a day, so not frequent enough to keep track. I'm a ftm so I don't really know if this means early labor, or what... I have my next ob appt tomorrow, and she didn't want to push it up unless anything changes, so I'm just not sure what to think!

sounds pretty normal to me, just keep an eye on contractions. I wouldn't be too concerned unless you start leaking fluids or your water completely breaks, also if you start having consistent contractions. this sounds like your body is just getting itself ready like your doctor said. These things happen and it could still take weeks for anything big to happen. good luck 😊

I was losing my mucus plug for a full month before I actually went back into labor. I started spitting the night I went into the hospital and they basically told me it's normal and I could go home. I woke up the next morning bleeding like I had started my period. That's when they finally admitted me for labor lol so if your doctor thinks you're fine you probably are. Once real contractions hit you you'll know for sure. They're unmistakable. However if you start bleeding like you're having a period definitely go in.
