sooo, a friend of mine who is a midwife told me i could pump to help stimulate dilation and effacement. Im currently dilated 0 and not effaced at all at 36 weeks with twins and im being induced next Wednesday. i do not want to labor for days. so i tried it and got out enough colostrum that it was dripping from my nipples and freaking me out! i hope there will still be colostrum for the babies! i am done pumping til they come.
Lol it regenerates 😂 your actual milk won't replace colostrum until you give birth and placenta is out. You can however save the colostrum in bottles. A lactation consultant told me that
Use evening primrose oil capsules. I inserted 2 at night and one in the morning. Went from not being thinned at all to being 90% thinned in 2 days
I didn't leaked till hours after I gave birth I was soaking my hospital gowns lol. I had to get induced as well last year and people say it's painful but since it was my first time and that happening I didn't consider it bad lol. This time around I hope I go into labor on my own 😭
and i have tried all the other ways :( looks like lots of pitocin for me! @izamarpink
it doesn't "use up"....your body signals to start producing when the placenta detaches anyway. it wasn't even enough to go into bottle, stayed around the nipple. i just didnt expect that at all-- i haven't even leaked! guess i will just have a good supply..many people pump to stimulate production and save up colostrum right before babies come but mine wasnt enough to save.
I got like 2oz of colostrum out at 39 weeks with my last baby
